DESCRIPTION:Adam Hall is an accomplished Trumpeter\, Vocalist and Composer 
 based in Perth\, Australia. He began playing in 1990 at the age of ten\, a
 nd later studied the craft at Berklee College of Music in Boston\, USA. Ad
 am is also competent in playing the Trombone\, Alto Sax\, Piano\, Euphoniu
 m\, Mellophonium\, and a little bit of Bass and Drums for good measure.\n\
 nIn his early career Adam played at the Sydney Olympics and was Artist in 
 Residence at Southbridge Jazz Club\, Singapore. He has worked with numerou
 s talents such as: James Morrison\, Don Burrows\, 45-year-long former lead
 er of the Count Basie Orchestra Frank Foster\, Shirley Horn's band\, Vanes
 sa Amorosi and Grace Knight\, to name just a few.\n\nAdam has since made t
 ours to Europe and various cities all over the world including Singapore\,
  Boston\, New York\, New Orleans and Los Angeles. He has performed through
 out Germany at the Jazzclub Rheingau\, Yorckschlösschen\, Ratskeller Köp
 enick and on the Rhein River. Adam played at the Rockin’ Race Jamboree i
 n Spain and the Metropol in Vienna. Adam was a guest musician in Jeremy Mo
 nteiro’s Merry Bebop: A Jazzy Christmas for 2013 and headlined the openi
 ng night of the Berne Jazz &amp\; Blues Sessions in Switzerland in 2014.\n
 \nAdam Hall features on Bluesin’ The Groove’s 2013 album ‘Mess Aroun
 d’\, which won Blues Album of the Year in Germany and ranked number 5 in
  the international list.\n\nIn 2005 he formed a classic Rhythm &amp\; Blue
 s band\, ‘Adam Hall &amp\; The Velvet Playboys’. The band is somewhat 
 of an institution of the Perth music scene. Renowned for its captivating l
 ive performances\, marked by slick presentation and raw energy. Alongside 
 Adam (Vocals\, Trumpet) it features some of Western Australia’s finest m
 usicians\, including:\nMark Turner (Guitar)\nAnthony Dodos (Trombone)\nMat
 thew Hanson (Drums)\nAshley de Neef (Double Bass)\nMatthew Schmalkucke (Ke
 ys)\nAnd regular special guest appearances from sensational jazz vocalist 
 Jessie Gordon.\n\nThe band’s repertoire is rooted in the Jazz and Rhythm
  &amp\; Blues music of the 40’s and 50’s. Music from artists such as R
 ay Charles\, Frank Sinatra\, Louis Prima\, Sammy Davis Junior\, Harry Conn
 ick Junior\, Jackie Wilson\, Chuck Berry and The Blues Brothers. They also
  include a large library of Adam Hall originals and unique arrangements\, 
 which can be found on their four albums:\nI’ve Got News For You (2007\, 
 feat. Big Jay McNeely)\nWhen It’s Party Time Down South (2011\, feat. Ri
 chard Jackson and Rick Smith)\nIt’s You\, It’s Me (2012\, feat. Jessie
  Gordon)\nThe Rhythm Spectacular - The Music of Beyoncé (2014\, feat. Jes
 sie Gordon and Yara Neto)\nAdam Hall &amp\; The Velvet Playboys\nwas nomin
 ated for Best Jazz Act in the 2010 West Australian Music Industry awards\,
  and have been a hit at major festivals and events around Australia: The N
 arooma Great Southern Blues Festival (NSW)\, Wintersun (Qld)\, MLX (VIC)\,
  Alice Springs Cup Ball (NT)\, Fairbridge Folk Festival\, Shinju Matsuri P
 earl Festival\, and Bridgetown Blues (all WA).\n\nIn 2008 they toured with
  legendary US Rhythm &amp\; Blues saxophonist Big Jay McNeely and played s
 hows with legends Syl Johnson and Betty Harris. They performed throughout 
 Europe in 2013\, playing at the Blue Note (Osnabruck\, Germany)\, Aachner 
 Vieher (Cologne\, Germany)\, Grand Blues Jam (Bergkamen\, Germany)\, Vienn
 a Blues Festival (Austria)\, Les Caveau de Augustins (Bayonne\, France)\, 
 and at the Sultan Jazz Club (Singapore).\n\nAs Louis Prima said: "We just 
 want to play pretty music for the people."
